Junhao Hangzhou Century Center
High-rise façade delivery for a landmark glass envelope in Hangzhou, China. Junhao Hangzhou Century Center is defined by its twin towers and sweeping glazed form — a gateway building where the façade is central to the architectural identity. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, with engineering by Arup, our façade team worked in close coordination with the project team to design, engineer, fabricate and install a highly complicated façade package that demanded both technical depth and site delivery discipline.
The challenge was not simply scale. The curved tower profiles, skybridge connection and layered glass screen created thousands of unique interface conditions, where panel geometry, structural movement, wind loading, thermal performance and visual alignment all had to be resolved before installation. The façade also had to accommodate integrated lighting and tight tolerances across a constantly changing building form.
Successful delivery required advanced 3D coordination, unitised curtain wall engineering, specialist access planning, rigorous QA and carefully sequenced installation with the structure, MEP and lighting teams. Installers worked safely at height while protecting the design intent: a smooth, reflective envelope that reads as one continuous surface.
Completed on schedule in 2022, the result is a high-performance façade that strengthens the centre's landmark identity and demonstrates the value of partnering with façade specialists who can turn ambitious design intent into a buildable, durable and visually exceptional envelope.
